Norwalk Manor — Established, Central, and Underrated

by Orlando Garcia

Norwalk Manor doesn't get talked about much, and that's kind of the point. It's a solid, central neighborhood near Firestone and Norwalk Blvd that quietly does everything right without needing to announce it.

The setup

Mostly single-story homes built in the 50s and 60s, three bedrooms being the norm, lots that give you actual yard space. A lot of long-time owners here, which usually means well-kept streets and neighbors who know each other. That matters more than people think until they move somewhere it isn't true.

Price range

Norwalk Manor tends to run a touch more affordable than College Estates, often landing in the high $600Ks to mid $700Ks depending on updates and lot size. If you're a first-time buyer trying to stretch every dollar, this is one of the first neighborhoods I point people toward.

Location perks

Central means central. You're minutes from the 5, minutes from Firestone's shopping and restaurants, and close enough to Norwalk Town Square that errands don't eat your whole Saturday.

The honest take

Some homes here need work. Original kitchens, original bathrooms, the usual story with 1950s housing stock that hasn't turned over in decades. That's not a knock, it's an opportunity if you're willing to put in some sweat equity or budget for updates after close.
